Musicians/Dancers/Actors

  • For musicians/dancers/actors, space there will be one stage
  • Musicians– small groups and individuals – minimal amplification – all ages
  • Dancers – individual and groups – all types
  • Actors – individuals or companies – all ages
  • Acts must be family-friendly
  • There are a limited number of honorariums
  • As JART, Inc., (the sponsor of this event) is a non-profit corporation, they can provide a receipt for the donation of services in lieu of honorariums

Street Performers

  • Will be assigned specific spaces and times as to where and where they can perform
  • NO fees will be paid for Street Performers
  • Street Performers are allowed to accept donations
  • Acts must be family-friendly
  • Street performers include –
    • Clowns
    • Balloon artists
    • Acrobat
    • Caricaturists
    • Jugglers, Mimes, Human Statues
    • Magicians
    • Storytellers, Comedians, Poets
    • Puppetry, Ventriloquists

Application Guidelines

All applications must be accompanied by 5 photos showing you or your group performing.  The preferred method of submitting your application and photographs is via this electronic application or via the email – Applications@SpotsyArtsFestival.com.  Images should be of jpeg/gif/tiff format with image size less than 1.8 MBs and should identify your First and Last Name, Group Name

Alternatively, photos may be mailed with the application to – Spotsy Arts Festival, PO Box 274, Montross, VA  22520.  Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your entry form only if you want your photos returned. Please note any specific requests that you may have on the application form.  We will try, but cannot guarantee all requests. 

It is understood that any of these photos can be used in promotional materials.

All applications will be reviewed by the FESTIVAL’s EVENT COMMITTEE.    The decision of this group is final. Accepted Performers will be notified via email by NLT June 1.     (No rejection letters will be sent.)  Those accepted will be featured on our website – www.SpotsyArtsFestival.com.

Applications received after the deadline may or may not be considered for participation.

Tentative Festival Schedule

Friday 8 am – 4 pm                 Set Up (a detailed site map and instructions for setup/unloading/loading will be sent prior to the Festival)

Friday 5 pm – 7 pm                 Reception/Awards Ceremony

Saturday 10 am – 6 pm           Spotsy Arts Festival hours

Sunday 11 am – 5 pm             Spotsy Arts Festival hours

Sunday 5 pm -?                       Take down 

Performer Cancellation

Performers can cancel a show for any reason, however, when cancellation is within 30 days of the event they will be banned for one year from future shows.
